Ian Mcewan

Since my favorite movie category of all time is "gorgeous star crossed lovers in a beautifully photographed historical setting with a broody British guy" - I was thrilled to see the preview for Atonement. I had heard of the book before but wasn' t very familiar with it. In anticipation of the movie, I started reading the book and it is absolutely delicious. It is so nice to read a novel that isn't trying to hard too be anything more than a well written story. I read 130 pages last night instead of studying - so today I am getting my homework done first.

It's okay. I have now officially watched the 2007 TV version of Jane Austen's 'Persuasion' TWICE in the last 48 hours, and I feel I may not escape a third viewing today. So much more ... gratifying than reading about technology for class.

I am excited for Atonement, too. I actually think Keira Knightley is a pretty good actress. A great substitute for Stick-Insect of the Nineties, our revered Gwynnie, who really can't act, and whom I loath for stealing the Oscar from the infinitely more deserving Cate Blanchett.

Speaking of movies, you need to see Eastern Promises if you haven't already.

Oh I daydream of all the escaping I could be having. But yes, school has to come first damn it. What do you study?
Thanks for the comment about my pumping issues. I appreciate it.
