Ariel has earned husband of the week - not only did he complete our beautiful new bamboo floor throughout our house (see my photo to the right - it does no justice), he brought me dinner at work last night. He hasn't ever done that before, and I have a sneaking suspicion that he was inspired by my friend Rene's radio story. But I appreciated it all the same!
I am working on doing Isaac's first grade curriculum, since he turns six next month. Planning is the best part of homeschooling. It is great to sit down and think about all the wonderful things I want to teach my kids - then the reality of actually having to teach them is something else. Planning is also the best part of
traveling in the same way - everything always works out so perfectly in my head.
Loneliness
Being apart and lonely is like rain.
It climbs toward evening from the ocean plains;
from flat places, rolling and remote, it climbs
to heaven, which is its old abode.
And only when leaving heaven drops upon the city.
It rains down on us in those twittering
hours when the streets turn their faces to the dawn,
and when two bodies who have found nothing,
dissapointed and depressed, roll over;
and when two people who despise eachother
have to sleep together in one bed-
that is when loneliness receives the rivers...

oooh... bamboo flooring... I'm jealous.
Can you send him to Reston so he can put it in my house too?
I would gladly pimp my hubby out to you - but it took me two years to get them in my house, so it might take awhile to get them in Reston!
